Bamboo is the proper name of the members of the botanical family, which is the tribe of the family of grasses (gramineae). They are large, often tree-like woody stem. The stems are slender, 25 to 50 cm in diameter and hollow.
Bamboo fabric is a naturally hypoallergenic product grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides. It offers a high level of UV protection. It is quick to absorb moisture, therefore keeping you dry and odour free. Pure bamboo clothes can dry twice as fast as cotton clothes. Bamboo clothes can be worn all year round as they keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.
Bamboo fabric is created from bamboo pulp. The fabric is bleached without the use of chlorine. Bamboo fabric is easy to dye and is done so without the use of harsh chemicals and using methods which use less water than conventional dyeing methods.
Bamboo has many environmental benefits. It is a fully renewable resource. The plant is grown without artificial fertilizers – and on land that is too poor for the crops. Bamboo plants are very quick growers. They also require very little water and they can survive drought conditions as well as flooding. Bamboos are ordinarily rapid growing. In the rainy season, for the month they grow 45 to 50 cm a day.
Another benefit of bamboo is that it releases a significant amount of oxygen into the atmosphere, more so than trees. Planting bamboo can help reduce the level of carbon dioxide in the air as well as reducing soil erosion and desertisation.

Hemp grows well without herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides. It grows extremely fast, producing more fiber yield per acre than any other source. Hemp can produce 250% more fiber than cotton and 600% more fiber than flax using the same amount of land. Hemp has a deep root system that helps to prevent soil erosion, removes toxins, provides a disease break, and aerates the soil to the benefit of future crops. Moreover, hemp does not exhaust the soil. Hemp plants shed their leaves all through the growing season, adding rich organic matter to the topsoil and helping it retain moisture. Farmers have reported excellent hemp growth on land that has been cultivated steadily for nearly 100 years.
Clothing made from hemp incorporates all the beneficial qualities of an earth-friendly product and will likely last longer than clothing made of cotton and other fiber. Blended with other fibers, hemp incorporates the desirable qualities of both textiles. The soft elasticity of cotton or the smooth texture of silk combined with the natural strength of hemp creates a whole new genre of fashion design.
They are longer, stronger, more absorbent, more mildew-resistant, and more insulative than cotton. This means that hemp will keep you warmer in winter and cooler in summer than cotton. Hemp is more effective at blocking the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. Hemp is environmentally friendly in many ways. It can displace the use of cotton, which requires massive amounts of chemicals harmful to people and the environment.
